DirectAdmin is now the fastest growing control panel in the web hosting market. In this tutorial, we will show you how to create a new account on a DirectAdmin VPS. Creating a “New User” is the equivalent of “Creating a new cPanel account” on a cPanel server.

1. Log in to add user

First, log into your DirectAdmin control panel and click on “Add User”.

If this is your first time creating a new account, you will be taken to the “Create a new package” screen. Click “Create User Package”

You can create a package with whatever specifications you want. If you don’t care about the disk and bandwidth limits on this package since you will just be creating packages for your own websites, simply put a check mark on the two “unlimited” boxes as shown in the image below and click on “save” at the bottom

2. Add new user

Now go back to the DirectAdmin home page and click on “Add new user” again like we did on step one. This time, it will take you to a screen that allows you to create a new account. Fill in everything you see in orange below and click “Submit”

That’s it! You’ve just created your first user. The username and password yuo created are going to be the same username and password you would use for FTP, or for logging directly into this account.

After creating this new account, you will see it on the list of all “users” on your server (Remember, in DirectAdmin “Users” are the same thing as “cPanels”.

3. Logging into end user panel

Now that we’ve created a new user, you can install WordPress very easily. On the same “Show Users” screen, click on the username that you just created

You will be taken to a screen that gives you statistics for this user. But we want to login to this individual users control panel as if we were this customer/user. So click on Login as user

4.Installing WordPress via Softaculous

You are now logged in as that user! You can scroll down and click on “WordPress” to create a new WordPress installation via Softaculous.

This is now complete! If you want a tutorial on how to install WordPress from inside of Softaculous “The Correct way”, please go to this next tutorial and skip the cPanel portion of it. Go down to where it shows you how to set the correct directory which is very important so you don’t install inside of a “wp” directory http://blog.webhostpython.com/2019/11/22/how-to-install-wordpress-through-softaculous-the-correct-way/

Thank you for choosing The Webhostpython Experience!
